2017 Rocky Mountain Tax Seminar for Private Foundations Sponsored by El Pomar Foundation

We look forward to seeing all of you in September for the 8th annual Rocky Mountain Tax Seminar for Private Foundations.

Here is some information for you as you get ready to travel to beautiful Colorado Springs.

 

ATTIRE:
 - Seminar: Business Casual. Be comfortable! No suit, tie or coat is needed.
 - Welcome Reception and Dinner on Wednesday night: Summer resort. No suit, tie or coat is needed.
 - Seven Falls tour: Casual and comfortable, flat walking shoes or tennis shoes. There is some uneven terrain and heels would not be appropriate.


TRANSPORTATION TO SEMINAR:
The Broadmoor Hotel will be offering shuttle service to and from Penrose House during the seminar. Upon check-in, you will receive a brochure and map of the property. You will note that the Penrose House is a short half-mile walk from the hotel. We will also have transportation available if you need to leave the seminar early for any reason to go back to the hotel.


SEMINAR MATERIALS:
You will receive your name tag, seminar book and other materials when you check-in on Wednesday morning at Penrose House. As you come through the front door, we will be located to your right. After that, you may go to the main dining room to enjoy your breakfast, which will be from 8:00am-9:30am. Also, we will be sending each of you an electronic version of the seminar book to the email you provided on your registration form Wednesday morning. If for some reason you do not receive it by 9:30am that morning, please let us know and we will resend.


DINING:
The Broadmoor has several venues to dine on property. It is highly recommended that you make reservations ahead of time as the hotel is at full capacity while you are here. Please note – some of the restaurants have attire requirements. To make your dining reservation, please call 1-866-381-8432. You may also go to www.broadmoor.com to review the dining venues, hours of operation and attire requirements.


WELCOME RECEPTION AND DINNER– WEDNESDAY EVENING 5:00pm – 8:00pm:
The Welcome Reception is open to all attendees and their guest. It will be held at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. There will be a shuttle running from Broadmoor West to the Zoo, which is not within walking distance. Please bring your name tag with you to this event. Also, if you will be bringing a guest, please provide their name to us so we can have a name tag prepared for them. We will have a cocktail hour reception, followed by dinner and a program.


THURSDAY TOUR:
If you are interested in participating in the Seven Falls tour, please email us. This is also open to all attendees and their guest. For scheduling purposes, transportation will leave Broadmoor West at 3:15pm and you will be back at the hotel by 5:00pm. You must RSVP for the tour if you plan on joining. WEATHER:
While weather in Colorado is always unpredictable, it is usually in the low to mid-70s and sunshine during the day, and mid to upper 40s at night. Please bring a light jacket.


MISCELLANEOUS:
The Garden Pavilion, where the seminar is held, does have Wi-Fi. It is open seating for the seminar and there will be beverages and snacks throughout the day.

There will be a power strip in the back of the room for you to charge your phones, laptops, iPads, etc.

Breakfast (available 8:00am-9:30am each day) and lunch (12:35pm on Wednesday and 12:00pm on Thursday) will be served in the main dining room and we also have seating on the beautiful terrace for outside dining. Those seats go fast! It is a short stroll from the dining room to the Garden Pavilion and there will be signs and staff to help with directions.

We have gluten free options for each breakfast, lunch and snacks – please look for signage on the buffet table. If you have any special requests, please contact us so we can notify the caterer.

If you need to book transportation from the airport to the Broadmoor, the hotel’s preferred carrier is Grayline Shuttle. Advance reservations are required – please call 1-855-266-2522 ext. 4769.
